XRP News Today: Altcoin Season Begins as Ether Gains 2.62% XRP 3.85%

Optimism is surging among cryptocurrency traders and investors following last week's market downturn, with bullish sentiments dominating online communities. This optimism is bolstered by insights from João Wedson, the founder of crypto investment platform Alphractal and a verified author at Crypto analytics firm CryptoQuant, who has asserted that the much-anticipated altcoin season is already underway.

In a post shared on X, Wedson informed his 6,000 followers that a significant number of altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin, indicating a potential for a substantial price rally within the broader altcoin market. "An Altcoin Season is happening right now! Altcoin Seasons can unfold within hours, days, or weeks — and we can’t afford to miss these opportunities," he wrote.

According to the altcoin and Bitcoin index chart shared by Wedson, many altcoins are trading at a higher volume than Bitcoin this June. Specifically, 47 out of 56 altcoins have outperformed Bitcoin in the last 900 minutes. This trend suggests renewed interest in the altcoin market and hints at a potential price rally sooner than expected. However, Wedson cautions that market volatility is likely to persist as bears have not yet fully exited the market. "Take advantage of it [the altcoin season], because the coming days will bring high volatility and great opportunities," he added.

Despite the heightened volatility, leading altcoins Ether and XRP have managed to retain gains from the previous week. Ether and XRP have emerged as the top performers, with 7-day gains of 2.62% and 3.85%, respectively. At the time of reporting, Ether is valued at $2,528, while XRP trades at $2.16 per coin.

The current market dynamics suggest a bullish outlook for the altcoin sector, with Ether and XRP leading the charge.
