Xbox Game Pass Reveals August 2025 Wave 1 Lineup, Including Assassin's Creed Mirage and Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Microsoft has revealed the August 2025 Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup, including Assassin's Creed Mirage, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and Citizen Sleeper 2. Rain World is now part of Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Other additions include Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, MechWarrior 5: Clans, and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. Assassin's Creed Mirage and Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be available on August 7 and 12, respectively.

The lineup features several notable additions. Assassin's Creed Mirage, a smaller, Baghdad-based entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise, will be available on August 7 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers [1]. The lineup also includes a Game Preview build of 9 Kings, a roguelike kingdom builder, which will be available on PC via PC Game Pass on August 14 [1].

As Microsoft giveth, so it taketh away. Several titles are set to leave Game Pass this month, including Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload. Members can get a 20% discount to keep these games in their library [1].

The addition of these titles to the Xbox Game Pass library is expected to enhance the service's value proposition, attracting more subscribers and potentially increasing revenue for Microsoft. However, the company will need to carefully manage the balance between adding new titles and removing older ones to maintain subscriber satisfaction.
