World Network, a crypto project co-founded by Sam Altman, and Story, an intellectual property (IP) blockchain, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enabling creators to prove authorship and maintain ownership of their work. This collaboration is particularly timely as experts predict that 90% of online content will be AI-generated by 2025, making it increasingly difficult for human creators to receive credit and maintain control over their intellectual property.

The partnership leverages World ID, World Network's digital identity system that verifies real humans. By integrating World ID, Story aims to enhance the human-authored signal throughout the full IP lifecycle. This integration will allow creators to connect with the platform, verify their Story wallet, and prove ownership of their intellectual property. Creators will have the ability to control how their IP is used, licensing it on their terms and receiving payment accordingly.

Once registered, creators can choose between royalty-based or fee-based licensing for their content. Additionally, they can add a Programmable IP License (PIL), a legal off-chain document based on US copyright law, created by the Story team. This document will further protect the creators' rights and ensure they are compensated for their work.

The integration is set to go live later this year, with both companies expressing excitement about building a future where human-made content remains visible, valuable, and protected as the digital world evolves. World Network has already made significant strides, with 29 million real human participants in 160 countries and over 100 million uses of World ID across third-party applications.

World Network has also been actively expanding its partnerships and presence. In May, it raised $135 million through a private sale of its WLD token to early backers such as Andreessen Horowitz and Bain Capital Crypto. In March, it partnered with Razer, a global lifestyle brand for gamers, to put "human gamers at the center of the AI gaming revolution." Additionally, World Network launched in the Philippines in February as part of its global expansion plans.

This partnership between World Network and Story represents a significant step forward in protecting human creativity in an AI-dominated digital landscape. By providing tools to register, license, and monetize IP onchain, the collaboration aims to support creators and ensure they receive the recognition and compensation they deserve.
