The awards, launched on August 12, 2025, are designed to provide clarity amidst a crowded marketplace filled with numerous product claims and contradictory advice.

The awards, which are part of WeightWatchers' 62-year legacy in science-backed weight management, were selected by a diverse panel of experts. The panel included registered dietitians, fitness experts, and program developers. The selection process evaluated products across categories such as food and drink, movement tools, and meal prep essentials.
