Vincorion Aims for Frankfurt IPO This Week, Targeting €350 Million Raise
Germany-based defense and aviation power systems company Vincorion is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange this week, with a planned listing date of March 5, 2026. The offering seeks to raise €300 million to €350 million (approximately $354.6 million to $413.7 million) at a projected valuation of €1.5 billion ($1.8 billion). The IPO will be an all-secondary offering, meaning no new shares will be issued, and proceeds will flow directly to existing shareholders, primarily private equity firm Star Capital, which acquired Vincorion in 2021.
Vincorion, established in 2018 as a spin-off from Jenoptik Group, specializes in safety-critical power systems for defense, aviation, and rail sectors. Its product portfolio includes generators, electric motors, hybrid systems, and military vehicle power units. The company reported revenue of approximately €200 million in 2024 and employs around 900 people across Germany and the United States.
Strong investor demand has emerged for the IPO, driven by the company's robust order backlog, experienced management team, and strategic positioning in defense and aviation markets. Positive early feedback has prompted discussions about accelerating the timeline, potentially mirroring the swift process of peer company CSG. The offering is backed by a syndicate of major banks, including Berenberg, BNP Paribas, JP Morgan, Commerzbank, and UniCredit/Kepler Cheuvreux, serving as joint coordinators and bookrunners.
The IPO reflects growing investor interest in defense and industrial technology sectors amid global geopolitical tensions. Analysts note that Vincorion's focus on niche, high-margin applications could position it as an attractive addition to the Frankfurt market. However, as with any IPO, market conditions and investor appetite at the time of pricing will ultimately determine the outcome.
