Viatris Launches Inpefa, a Treatment for Heart Failure in UAE, with Expansion Plans

Viatris has launched Inpefa, a dual SGLT1/2 inhibitor for treating heart failure, in the UAE. The drug reduces the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization for heart failure, and urgent heart failure visits in adults with heart failure or type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, and other cardiovascular risk factors. Inpefa is the first of its kind to show significant reductions in MI and stroke. The launch supports Viatris' strategy to expand access to the treatment in multiple countries over the next several years.
