Unum Group rose 1.15% in premarket trading, with UBS, which acquired Credit Suisse in 2023, resolving a legacy mortgage securities matter with the US Department of Justice. UBS agreed to pay $300 million to settle outstanding consumer-relief obligations, which stemmed from a 2017 agreement between Credit Suisse and the DOJ. This resolution is expected to result in a credit for UBS in its third-quarter earnings.
