UltraTech: MD K. C. Jhanwar to complete term Dec. 31
UltraTech Cement has announced that Krishna Kishore Maheshwari will retire as Managing Director on December 31, 2025, transitioning to the role of non-executive vice chairman. Kailash Chandra Jhanwar, who has served as deputy managing director and chief manufacturing officer, will assume the MD role effective January 1, 2026.
Jhanwar brings extensive experience to the position, having spent 38 years with the Aditya Birla Group. His career spans roles in finance, operations, and general management across the group's cement and chemical divisions according to company records. Under his leadership, UltraTech has expanded production capacity, enhanced distribution networks, and integrated digital and sustainability initiatives into its operations.
Jhanwar's leadership has been recognized industry-wide. He was named among Fortune India's Best CEOs for 2025, marking his third consecutive year receiving this honor, including the title of Best CEO in the Cement sector. The accolade underscores UltraTech's commitment to innovation and stakeholder value, as well as its strategic focus on sustainable growth.
Maheshwari, previously managing director of Grasim, will continue to contribute as a director of Aditya Birla Management Corp, providing strategic guidance to group companies. The leadership transition reflects UltraTech's ongoing efforts to maintain operational excellence and long-term value creation in the competitive cement market.
