On May 15, 2025, Uber's trading volume reached $18.39 billion, a 33.63% decrease from the previous day, ranking 38th in the day's stock market. Uber's stock price fell by 0.28%, marking the second consecutive day of decline, with a total decrease of 1.70% over the past two days.

Uber has introduced a new feature called "Route Share," which offers a more affordable ride option compared to its standard UberX service. This new feature is part of Uber's broader strategy to help users save money during a period of rising prices and economic uncertainty. Route Share operates along fixed routes with pickups every 20 minutes during peak hours, potentially costing up to half the price of an UberX ride. This makes it Uber's most affordable ride option to date, allowing users to share the ride with up to two other passengers.

During the 2025 Go-Get product event, UberUBER-- also unveiled several other cost-saving measures. The "Price Lock Pass" feature, priced at $2.99 per month, allows riders to lock in prices for specific routes in advance, helping them avoid fare surges related to weather, traffic, or construction. This feature could result in savings of up to $50 per month. Additionally, the "Prepaid Pass" feature enables riders to book bundles of rides in increments of five up to 20 rides, offering deeper discounts. These features are designed to make Uber's services more predictable and affordable for users.

Uber's new "Route Share" feature is expected to roll out gradually in major cities such as New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Boston, and Baltimore, with more cities to follow. This feature complements Uber's existing airport shuttle service, which has been successful in New York City and is set to launch in Atlanta soon. The company views these new features as a way to reduce reliance on individual car ownership and provide a more comfortable and predictable transportation network.
