TVS Motor Co Expands Distribution Network in South Africa

TVS Motor Company, a global leader in two- and three-wheeler manufacturing, has announced a strategic partnership with ETG Logistics (ETGL) to strengthen its presence in South Africa. Under the agreement, ETGL will operate 30 dealerships across the country, providing dedicated sales, service, spare parts, and customer relationship management (CRM) support. The partnership also includes establishing an assembly setup and training center in Johannesburg to enhance local operations.

This collaboration aligns with TVS Motor's broader international expansion strategy. The company, which ranks among the top five two-wheeler manufacturers globally, has a presence in over 70 countries and generates approximately half of its revenue from international markets. South Africa is positioned as a key growth market, with ETGL's extensive distribution network and market expertise complementing TVS's product portfolio.

TVS will introduce models such as the Apache series, HLX series, NTORQ 125, and Duramax Cargo in South Africa. These products are tailored to address diverse customer needs, including premium motorcycle segments, last-mile connectivity, and commercial delivery solutions. The NTORQ 125, a Bluetooth-enabled scooter, targets younger consumers, while the Duramax Cargo aims to optimize cost efficiency in logistics.

R Dilip, President of International Business at TVS Motor, emphasized the partnership's role in expanding market presence in Southern Africa and setting a customer experience benchmark. Rajeev Saxena of ETGL noted that the alliance would bring mobility solutions addressing specific customer requirements, leveraging TVS's technological capabilities and ETGL's market insights.

The partnership underscores TVS Motor's focus on international diversification, with South Africa serving as a strategic hub for further growth in the African continent. The company's emphasis on localized operations and product innovation reflects its long-term commitment to global markets.
