Turning an Abandoned NYC College into Luxury Apartments for $104 Million

Two businessmen, Matt Linde and Udi Kore, developed an abandoned 19th-century college in Brooklyn into luxury apartments. The project cost $104 million and involved securing a 99-year ground lease from the Catholic Church. The building was originally St. John's College, which relocated to Queens in 1972. The partners aimed to preserve the original structure while creating a better use for the property, generating income for the church.
