TSMC and Chip Design Firms Utilize AI to Optimize Energy Efficiency in Semiconductor Manufacturing

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) is tapping into artificial intelligence (AI) to help reduce energy consumption in chip design. The company, which provides integrated circuit manufacturing services, is working with chip design software firms to optimize chip performance while minimizing energy use. TSMC has already completed the transfer and mass production of 5nm technology and is researching 3nm and 2nm process technologies.
