Trump to Deploy Military to Border and Ready Strategic Planning in Slew of Executive Orders
President-elect Donald Trump will sign 11 border-related executive orders on Monday, including one authorizing the deployment of U.S. troops to the border, according to Fox News.
One of the orders will immediately direct the federal government to resume construction of the border wall, end Biden-era parole policies, including the CBP One app, and reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, which required asylum seekers to wait in dangerous border cities while their applications were processed.
Another order will instruct the deployment of American troops to the border under U.S. Northern Command and prioritize the country's borders and territorial integrity in the military's strategic planning.
A third order will designate international cartels and crime organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs), allowing for targeted actions against members, including financial penalties.
Trump is expected to announce some of these orders during his inauguration address and others during signings at the White House. These orders are part of a broader strategy to address border security and immigration issues as Trump begins his second term.
