Toyota Unveils e-Palette EV with Autonomous Driving Plans

Toyota has unveiled its e-Palette electric vehicle, designed for autonomous driving. The vehicle features spacious interiors for services such as food vending. Toyota aims to offer full autonomous driving capabilities as early as fiscal 2027. The debut took place at a new arena in Tokyo.

Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has unveiled the e-Palette electric vehicle (EV), designed with a focus on autonomous driving and multi-use applications. The vehicle was introduced at the TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO on September 15, 2025 Toyota Launches Next-Generation New Mobility e-Palette^[1]. The e-Palette features a spacious interior and large windows, creating a sense of openness, and is designed to support various mobility services with a single vehicle, such as mobile stores or service spaces.

The e-Palette is equipped with a low floor and wide sliding doors, allowing for quick boarding and exit, and includes height-adjustment functions and an electric ramp to facilitate wheelchair access. It is also designed to support automated driving, conforming to Level 2 specifications and aiming to introduce Level 4 capabilities by fiscal year 2027 Toyota Launches Next-Generation New Mobility e-Palette^[1]. The vehicle's advanced equipment includes a Steer-by-Wire System, digital signage, and a cabin monitoring system for enhanced safety.
