Toyota has appointed Kenta Kon as its new CEO, replacing Koji Sato. Kon, 57, was previously the company's CFO and head of accounting. He was also Toyoda's personal secretary for almost a decade. Kon's appointment comes at a time of increasing competition and pressure from US import tariffs, and he has vowed to focus on profitability. He is set to take over in April.
