Toyota is currently utilizing a range of Stratasys printers, including the F3300, F900, Origin One, F770, Neo800, H350, F370, J850, and Fortus 450mc, to produce robust factory tooling, end-use parts, and functional prototypes throughout its North American facilities. The Toyota Add Lab, an in-house additive manufacturing center opened in January 2023, plays a pivotal role in accelerating R&D and factory innovation.
According to Dallas Martin, Additive Manufacturing Engineer at Toyota North America, the speed of 3D printing allows the team to move quickly, implement safer solutions, and continuously iterate to improve processes. Lisa Bednar, Group Manager, Production Engineering at Toyota North America, echoed this sentiment, stating that additive manufacturing has transformed how teams collaborate and innovate, allowing them to build and refine parts the same day, and get them into production faster.
