Texas Instruments has made a surprise $7.5B deal to acquire Silicon Labs, expanding its portfolio in wireless connectivity for the Internet of Things. The move comes as the global wearable medical devices market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 20% by 2034. The acquisition will add to Texas Instruments' client base and revenue, and is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
