TSLA--

According to public filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, TeslaTSLA-- TSLA US Chairman Robyn Denholm sold 112,390 shares of Tesla stock worth approximately $33.7 million.

Denholm, who has been Tesla's chairman since November 2018, sold the shares. She also sold the same amount of stock last month, according to the filings, for total proceeds of about $42.3 million.

Earlier this year, Denholm and other Tesla directors were approved by a court to pay up to $919 million to settle allegations they were overpaid.

The lawsuit questioned the compensation of Tesla directors from 2017 to 2020, when the company's stock price soared, causing the value of their stock options to soar to tens of millions of dollars.

Denholm previously testified in the case involving Musk's $56 billion compensation package that her role on the Tesla board had earned her about $280 million.

Tesla's board, including Elon Musk's brother Kimbal Musk, has been criticized for being too cozy with the billionaire.

Musk's influence in U.S. politics has been growing, with President Donald Trump appointing him to head a government efficiency unit to root out what the White House calls wasteful spending as part of a broader overhaul that includes laying off thousands of workers.

Tesla's stock has fallen about 13% since the Nov. 3 election.
