Telefónica and Airbus received the Collaboration of the Year award in 2025 for their work in transforming the aerospace sector using advanced 5G technologies. Telefónica promoted the concept of 5G communication bubbles, secure and resilient connectivity environments that can be deployed in various scenarios, enabling advanced use cases in defence and mission-critical applications such as real-time coordination, high-quality video transmission, and secure voice and data communications. The company also achieved an unprecedented technological milestone by deploying the first aerial 5G system integrated on a military aircraft.
