Tazapay, a Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure platform, has secured a Series B funding round led by existing investor Peak XV Partners and supported by Ripple (US), CircleCRCL-- Ventures, Norinchukin Capital (Japan), and GMO VenturePartners (Japan) [1]. Existing investors January Capital and ARC180 also participated in the round [2]. Although the exact amount of the investment has not been disclosed, the funding is intended to accelerate Tazapay’s global expansion, licensing, and infrastructure development [3].

The platform currently processes more than $10 billion in annualized payment volume across 70 markets and has experienced 300% year-over-year growth [1]. Tazapay supports a range of payment methods, including alternative payment instruments, cards, virtual bank accounts, payouts, and stablecoin settlements, positioning itself as a key enabler of cross-border transactions for global enterprises, B2B marketplaces, and fintechs [2]. The company has achieved operational breakeven and has grown its revenue to $6.24 million in FY24, a 223.8% increase from the previous year [3].

With licenses already in place in Singapore, Canada, and the European Union, Tazapay is actively pursuing new regulatory approvals in the UAE, the U.S., China Hong Kong, Australia, and for a Digital Payment Token (DPT) license in Singapore [2]. The company has also outlined plans to expand into Japan, leveraging partnerships with GMO VenturePartners and Norinchukin Capital to facilitate local payment method integration for its global customer base [1]. These strategic partnerships are expected to accelerate Tazapay’s growth in the Asia-Pacific region, a key market for cross-border commerce [5].

The investments from Ripple and Circle, two of the most prominent players in blockchain-based and stablecoin-powered payments infrastructure, reinforce Tazapay’s role as a bridge between traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem. Ripple’s SVP of Corporate and Business Development, Eric Jeck, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Tazapay’s mission of building compliant, last-mile payment solutions in emerging markets [2]. Similarly, Circle’s involvement underscores the growing importance of stablecoins in facilitating efficient, cost-effective cross-border transactions [5].

Tazapay plans to further invest in modern payment rails, including real-time payments (RTP) and ACH systems, to deliver a future-ready payment experience for global businesses [2]. This strategic direction aligns with the broader trend of financial institutionsFISI-- and fintechs integrating blockchain and stablecoin technologies to enhance liquidity and reduce settlement times [6]. The company’s focus on operational scalability and regulatory compliance positions it as a strong contender in the evolving cross-border payments landscape.

Tazapay’s growth trajectory has been marked by a series of strategic milestones, including a $16.9 million Series A round in 2023 led by Peak XV Partners [3]. The recent Series B investment follows a period of significant operational expansion, with Tazapay now targeting key regulatory markets in the U.S. and Asia. As the global paymentsGPN-- ecosystem continues to evolve, the company’s strategic alliances and technology roadmap suggest a strong foundation for long-term success in bridging traditional finance with the next generation of digital payment infrastructure [1].
