The cyclonic storm is expected to move northwards parallel to the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts, bringing heavy rainfall. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in multiple districts, with extremely heavy rain forecast for some areas. Fifty-four flights have been cancelled at Chennai airport due to the cyclone's impact. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid coastal areas.
