Tahltan First Nation members in northern B.C. are concerned about an "upfront payment" of $10,000 from Skeena Resources ahead of a vote on the Eskay Creek mine project. The project involves reopening a former mine and requires Tahltan consent. The payment is part of a proposed Impact Benefit Agreement that includes $210 million in royalties, $81 million in shares, and $17 million for community supports. The vote will determine whether members approve the agreement.
