On Wednesday, WeRide (WRD.US) saw a rise of over 4% before the US market opened, trading at US$12.81. WeRide announced on January 14 that its Swiss innovation autonomous driving pilot commercial project had officially started. The project was jointly funded by the Canton of Zurich and the Swiss National Railway SBB, managed by the Swiss Transportation Laboratory (STL), and provided products and technical support by WeRide.

According to the plan, the project will gradually deploy dozens of autonomous vehicles in phases, including autonomous taxis (Robotaxi) and autonomous minibuses (Robobus). During the testing phase, two autonomous vehicles equipped with WeRide's technology will be put into use. The first autonomous fleet will officially go into operation in the second quarter of 2025, with a maximum of four autonomous vehicles deployed, and will operate in a fully unmanned mode for five years. By 2026, the fleet is expected to add another eight autonomous vehicles, and will further expand in the future.
