Sun Life U.S. and DentaQuest, part of Sun Life's dental business, have opened applications for the 2025 Health Access Hero awards. This annual program recognizes and supports initiatives that increase access to care and improve health outcomes for communities in need. The awards focus on areas such as oral health, diabetes, obesity prevention, and nutrition.

The Health Access Hero awards consist of two tracks: grants for community organizations and recognition for individuals. Organizations can select from three grant options: $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000. Individual Heroes receive a $10,000 donation to their chosen charity. Since its inception, the program has provided over $3 million in grants and recognized more than 125 individuals across the country.

The Health Access Hero awards align with Sun Life U.S. and DentaQuest's broader mission and values, addressing challenges people face when it comes to access to care. These challenges include lack of transportation, out-of-pocket costs, and the ongoing healthcare workforce shortage. By recognizing and supporting initiatives that make a difference at the community level, Sun Life U.S. and DentaQuest are committed to strengthening health equity and improving the health and well-being of people across the country.

Applications for the 2025 Health Access Hero awards are open from February 1 to April 30. Recipient notifications will be made in July and August, with public announcements in September. For more information about the awards and how to apply, visit .
