Steel Dynamics, Inc. has introduced lower-embodied-carbon steel products BIOEDGE and EDGE to support customers in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These products are produced using electric arc furnace technology and are matched with renewable energy certificates or emission-free nuclear energy certificates to significantly reduce Scope 2 emissions. BIOEDGE further reduces emissions by utilizing renewable biocarbon in the steelmaking process. The products are designed to provide a meaningful decarbonization solution for companies without compromising performance or quality.
