STAAR Surgical CEO Stephen Farrell has exited the company after it rejected a $1.6 billion takeover by Alcon. Farrell and chair Elizabeth Yeu have resigned, and three new board members, including Broadwood Partners' president, have joined. Broadwood had built a 31% stake in STAAR and waged a proxy battle with the company, which has now accepted board changes in a cooperation agreement with the activist investor.
