Solana's long-term holders (LTHs) are currently experiencing a period of fear and uncertainty, as indicated by the Net Unrealized Profit/Loss (NUPL) metric. The NUPL, which measures the emotional state of holders, has fluctuated between 0.1 and 0.65, reflecting a range of emotions from panic selling to optimism. In late January, the NUPL rose to 0.6, indicating market confidence, but it fell to 0.3 in mid-February, triggering a phase of fear and anxiety.

Despite the fear, there are several positive factors that Solana LTHs can count on in the short term. One of the most significant is the record-high network adoption, with 11.09 million addresses now holding the token. This metric hit its highest point in mid-March, despite the altcoin’s price declining from $200 to $127.58. This divergence suggests that negative market sentiment and profit withdrawal may have contributed to the price decline, but robust long-term belief has driven the hike in network adoption.

Another positive factor is the substantial cross-chain transfers that Solana has received, primarily from Ethereum and Arbitrum. This data confirms that SOLSOL-- has reclaimed its market share as it functions as the main beneficiary of returning transaction volumes from cross-chain flows. The massive inflows of blockchain assets to SOL, supported by its enormous scalability and minimal transaction fees, have surpassed other chains. SOL continues to maintain its position as the prevailing recipient of interchain traffic, which attracts more users and leads to positive price dynamics.

Historically, periods of fear have marked recoveries in the crypto market, implying that savvy investors may buy SOL, hinting at some upside on the price charts. The record-high network adoption, combined with strong cross-chain inflows, reveals Solana’s increasing confidence and scalability. Hence, it might do its part in reducing the anxiety of long-term holders. Fear-driven market conditions have historically paved the way for crypto price recoveries, which may present an ideal moment to purchase.

However, the price decline indicates short-term market wariness and temporary cautiousness. It is still unclear whether bullish market factors will be able to overcome market fear in the long term. This makes it difficult to predict the outcome of this uncertainty between optimism and doubt. Nevertheless, it can be expected to have some impact on SOL going forward.
