SoftBank's $40 Billion Bet on OpenAI's AI Future

SoftBank is set to invest $40 billion in OpenAI, valuing the AI startup at a staggering $300 billion post-money, according to sources close to the matter. This investment, which will be paid out over the next 12 to 24 months, will make SoftBank the largest investor in OpenAI, surpassing Microsoft as the top backer. The funding is expected to be used in part for OpenAI's commitment to Stargate, a joint venture with SoftBank and Oracle aimed at enhancing U.S. AI infrastructure.
