Buildings are responsible for nearly 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, but technology innovations can transform them into sustainable assets. Johnson Controls, a 140-year-old company with 100,000 employees, is leveraging efficiency, electrification, and digitalization to make buildings net zero or even net energy positive. The company is nearing completion of its own science-based emissions reduction targets and has achieved significant cuts in emissions and operating costs at its factory in Norman, Oklahoma. Heat pumps are one technology showcasing energy savings with a visible impact, capturing excess heat to eliminate heating needs and reducing energy costs.
Cushman & Wakefield (NYSE: CWK), a leading global commercial real estate services firm, has announced renewed science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets, aiming to enhance its climate ambition across operations and client properties worldwide.
