Snapchat offers several upgrade options: a 100GB plan, a 250GB option available with Snapchat+, and a 5TB plan for Snapchat Premium subscribers. For those who exceed the 5GB threshold but choose not to upgrade immediately, Snapchat will provide 12 months of temporary storage before requiring payment. Users can also download their Memories directly to their devices at any time.

The introduction of paid storage plans is a response to the rapid growth of the Memories feature since its launch in 2016. Snapchat users have collectively saved over 1 trillion Memories on the platform, necessitating the introduction of paid tiers to support continued service.
