This follows a strategic partnership announcement with DHL that expanded international shipping capabilities for ShopifySHOP-- merchants.
DHL's integration with Shopify grants merchants access to cost-effective cross-border solutions including ParcelUPS-- International Direct and Standard services, as well as DHL Express Worldwide. The collaboration enables U.S. and German businesses to leverage DHL's DDP and DDU customs options, streamlining global logistics for small and medium-sized enterprises. DHL's Parcel International Direct offers targeted delivery to 37 key markets with 5-12 business day transit times, while Express Worldwide provides expedited 1-3 day shipping to 220+ countries with customs automation.
The partnership expands Shopify's infrastructure for global commerce, with DHL's network now accessible directly within the Shopify platform. DHL officials emphasized this integration addresses growing demand for simplified international shipping, particularly for businesses lacking enterprise-level logistics resources. Rollout plans include Canada in September 2025 with further international expansion through 2026.
Backtesting of a strategy buying top 500 volume stocks and holding for one day from 2022 to 2025 showed 31.52% total return with 0.98% average daily gain. The approach achieved a Sharpe ratio of 0.79, with maximum daily gains of 4.95% and losses of -4.47%, reflecting short-term momentum capture amid market volatility.
