Semler Scientific Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 3,192 BTC, Generating 152% Returns
Semler Scientific, a U.S.-based publicly traded company, has made a significant investment of $88.5 million to increase its Bitcoin holdings to 871 BTC. This strategic move comes amidst a robust performance, with Semler's Bitcoin assets generating an impressive 152% return since July 1, 2024. Currently, the company holds a total of 3,192 BTC, reflecting its commitment to enhancing its presence in digital assets.
Further strengthening its financial positioning, Semler Scientific plans to offer $85 million in convertible senior notes to qualified institutional buyers, maturing in 2030. A portion of the proceeds will be allocated to fund capped call transactions, while the remainder will be utilized for general corporate purposes, including additional acquisitions of Bitcoin. This blend of strategic investments signals Semler's intent to leverage the evolving opportunities within the cryptocurrency market.
In a significant update, Semler Scientific has announced updates regarding its bitcoin activity and holdings, and BTC Yield, a key performance indicator. From January 11 to February 3, 2025, Semler Scientific bought 871 bitcoins for $88.5 million using funds from its January 2025 senior convertible notes offering and the sale of part of its stake in Monarch Medical Technologies, LLC. The average price of its bitcoin purchases was $101,616 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses.
As of February 3, 2025, Semler Scientific holds 3,192 bitcoins. Furthermore, Semler Scientific achieved a BTC yield of 21.9% from January 1 to February 3, 2025, and an impressive 152.2% from July 1, 2024, through February 3, 2025, following its adoption of a bitcoin treasury strategy.
