The company's recent product roadmap emphasizes hybrid cloud storage architectures, reflecting strategic shifts in response to AI-driven data center expansion trends.

To run this cross-section ranking test we need to pin down a few practical details and make sure they line up with what our back-test engine can handle. Key items still open: 1. Universe • All U.S. listed common stocks (NYSE + NASDAQ) – default, unless you prefer something like the S&P 500, Russell 3000, etc. 2. Volume definition • Share volume (number of shares traded) – default. • Dollar volume (shares × price) is also possible. 3. Trade execution convention • Buy the basket at the next day’s market open and liquidate at that same day’s close (1-day hold) – default. • Alternative is buy today’s close → sell next day’s close. 4. Weighting scheme • Equal-weight across the 500 names – default. • Volume-weighted or any other scheme if you prefer. 5. Basket representation Our back-test engine works on one “ticker” at a time, so to evaluate a 500-stock basket we’ll first construct a synthetic daily return series for the basket (equal-weighted unless you specify otherwise). That synthetic series will then be passed to the engine just like a single ticker. Unless you’d like different choices, I’ll proceed with: • Universe: all NYSE + NASDAQ common stocks • Volume metric: share volume • Execution: buy next-day open, sell same-day close • Weighting: equal weight Please let me know if these defaults are acceptable or if you’d like any adjustments before I build the data set and run the back-test.
