Sciens Building Solutions buys ninth Florida company

Sciens Building Solutions has completed its eighth acquisition in Florida, adding Southern Fire Control, a Pembroke Pines-based fire sprinkler contractor, to its portfolio. This acquisition expands Sciens' presence in the state, where it has operated since 2016 through a series of strategic acquisitions, including locations in Boca Raton, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami. The addition of Southern Fire Control, established in 1990, brings Sciens' Florida workforce to nearly 600 employees.

Southern Fire Control specializes in fire protection services for sectors such as education, healthcare, and hospitality, and is owned and operated by military veterans. Sciens, backed by The Carlyle Group, provides fire detection, sprinkler, and security systems across commercial markets. CEO Terry Heath emphasized that the acquisition strengthens Sciens' ability to deliver its Sciens Service Suite to Florida clients while supporting further national expansion.

The transaction was advised by Honigman, with a legal team led by Partner Eric M. Jones. Sciens has maintained a consistent growth trajectory in Florida since its first acquisition in 2016, reflecting its focus on expanding its national footprint through targeted acquisitions. The company continues to seek additional partnerships to enhance its service offerings and operational scale.
