In a surprising turn of events, Michael Saylor, the co-founder of Strategy, has expressed support for a multi-token cryptocurrency reserve that includes XRP. In a conversation with CNBC's Sara Eisen, Saylor labeled this development as "bullish" for Bitcoin and the broader crypto space. This shift in stance comes after Saylor previously rejected the idea of investing in altcoins. However, the initiative has faced criticism from some members of the crypto community, including crypto-friendly figures like Jake Chervinsky of Variant CLO, who argue that it distracts from the real work needed on stablecoins and market structure legislation.
Bitcoin's recent price behavior has underscored the unpredictable nature of the crypto market. After adding 10% to its value and surging to $93,604 the day prior, it dropped 5% to a low of $89,100. The Bollinger Bands indicator suggested such an outcome, as Bitcoin struggled to maintain its position above the middle band, leading to yesterday's decline and a liquidation of $1 billion worth of leveraged positions. Although BTC has since recovered to $88,850, up 7.15% over the past 24 hours, the lower Bollinger Band at approximately $83,400 remains a potential target if the current trend continues.
A massive SHIB transaction took place on March 4, with 20,000,000 SHIB sent to an unspendable blockchain address. This transaction contributed to a total of 20,794,281 SHIB burned by the community that day, resulting in a 34.24% increase in the daily burn rate. Over the past seven days, 122,135,883 SHIB have been destroyed, bringing the total of eliminated SHIB tokens to 410,744,744,227,515 SHIB. The burning efforts seem to have slightly helped the asset's recovery, with SHIB trading up 3.77% at press time, with its value standing at $0.00001304. Bitcoin's recent upturn has also
