Russia's President Observes Zapad-2025 Exercise with 100,000 Troops

On September 16, the Kremlin press service announced that the President of Russia, dressed in military uniform, attended the joint military exercise "Zapad-2025" between Russia and Belarus. The President arrived at the Mulino firing range in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to observe the concluding stage of the "Zapad-2025" exercise. The President mentioned that the experience from the special military operation was incorporated into the planning of the exercise.

The President highlighted that approximately 100,000 military personnel participated in the exercise, along with around 10,000 sets of weaponry and equipment systems, all of which are modern and designed for actual combat. The exercise involved 333 aircraft and nearly 250 vessels, with military personnel from six countries in attendance. The Minister of Defense of Russia briefed the President on the details of the exercise. The President stated that the objective of the "Zapad-2025" exercise was to practice defending the Russian-Belarusian Union states from any aggression.

The extensive use of drones and ground robots was a notable feature of this exercise, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
