The Malaysian ringgit appreciated against most major and Asean currencies, except for the US dollar, amid rising Brent crude prices ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee and Bank of Japan interest rate decisions. The ringgit depreciated to 4.0735/0770 against the US dollar from last Friday's close of 4.0685/0725. Analysts expect inflationary pressures to solidify the rate hike thesis, which could impact the ringgit in the near term.
