On September 2, 2025, Rigetti ComputingRGTI-- (RGTI) saw a trading volume of $0.99 billion, a 42.53% increase from the prior day, ranking it 93rd in market activity. The stock closed down 4.37%.

Rigetti announced a strategic collaboration with India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to co-develop hybrid quantum computing systems. The partnership aims to combine C-DAC’s high-performance computing expertise with Rigetti’s superconducting-qubit technology to design scalable, practical hybrid systems for government and academic use. Rigetti highlighted its multi-chip architecture and gate speeds exceeding 1,000 times those of alternative qubit types, positioning its technology as ideal for hybrid systems. The companies plan to refine use cases, advance hardware development, and expand training programs to support workforce growth in quantum and high-performance computing.

The collaboration aligns with India’s ChipIN initiative to strengthen domestic semiconductor capabilities and leverages global government funding trends. McKinsey’s June 2025 report noted $1.8 billion in public quantum investments in 2024, with over $10 billion announced in early 2025. Rigetti recently demonstrated its Cepheus-1-36Q system, showcasing scalability toward 100+ qubit platforms by year-end. The partnership is expected to drive innovation in cryogenic electronics and quantum hardware, reinforcing India’s role in next-generation technologies.

Rigetti and C-DAC intend to co-design hybrid architectures, advance cryogenic electronics, and develop application workflows. The collaboration also emphasizes workforce development to expand talent pipelines in quantum computing across India and the U.S. Rigetti’s CEO emphasized the potential to deliver practical hybrid systems, while C-DAC’s leadership highlighted the strategic value of accessing advanced processor fabrication and indigenous technology development.
