REV Group's Spartan Emergency Response broke ground on a $20M facility expansion in South Dakota. REV Group's Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER) has broken ground on a $20 million facility expansion in Brandon, South Dakota. The expansion, which was announced during the company's second-quarter earnings call on June 4, aims to enhance the facility's production capabilities and solidify Spartan ER's position as a leading manufacturer of fire apparatus.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden, who offered his support for the project. The expansion is expected to increase production capacity by 40% for Spartan ER's fully custom fire apparatus and high-performance, semi-custom fire trucks, which can be completed and delivered in under a year. Additionally, the expansion will increase the facility's painting and fabrication process capabilities across the Brandon campus.

The investment will also bring lasting economic benefits to the Brandon and Sioux Falls region. It is estimated to create 50 new jobs, with an annual payroll increase of $1.8 million, and an annual property tax contribution increase of $85,000. The expansion will add 56,000 square feet to the existing facility, effectively doubling Spartan ER's manufacturing footprint.
