Reform UK, a prominent political party in the United Kingdom led by Nigel Farage, has made a significant move by becoming the first European political party to accept cryptocurrency donations. This initiative is facilitated by RadomRDCM--, a U.K.-based crypto payments company that holds Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licenses for its crypto infrastructure.

The average crypto donation is reported to be $6,000, which is over 30 times the amount of a typical fiat contribution. This move by Reform UK comes on the heels of U.S. President Donald Trump receiving $18 million worth of crypto donations ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Farage has also announced his intention to follow Trump's lead by positioning the U.K. as a "crypto hub" if he becomes the next prime minister. This announcement is particularly notable given that Farage was famously cut off from banking services in 2023, sparking a debate around freedom of banking and the restrictions imposed on individuals with differing political views.

Chris Wilson, the CEO of Radom, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Reform UK. "We’re excited to be working with Reform UK on this initiative. We appreciate Nigel Farage’s efforts in drawing attention to the issue of debanking in the UK, and we’re pleased to see a major political party embrace crypto," Wilson stated. He further added, "We hope this encourages broader adoption in the UK and helps drive progress toward clearer regulatory frameworks -- something that we see as vital for sustainable industry growth.”
