The Queensland government has scrapped a Labor-era mandate to transition all eligible passenger vehicles in the fleet to zero-emission vehicles by 2026. Instead, the new strategy aims to reduce QFleet's tailpipe emissions by 10% by 2030, allowing for the use of hybrids and plug-in hybrids. The government plans to grow the fleet by 9% over the same period. The new plan focuses on reducing emissions rather than buying a specific type of car.
