QatarEnergy Seeks U.S. LNG Supplies Amid Ras Laffan Damage

QatarEnergy is negotiating with US LNG producers, including Cheniere Energy, to secure multi-year supplies through 2031, replacing disrupted volumes from its Ras Laffan facility damaged by Iranian strikes in March. The company is seeking 2-3 million metric tons per annum. Cheniere, with its leading US LNG production and export capacity, could be well-positioned to benefit from QatarEnergy's search for replacement volumes. Cheniere's production momentum supports its potential in long-term agreements with QatarEnergy, with production increasing 20% year-over-year in Q2 2026 and a raised 2026 production forecast to 53-54 million tons.
