Private credit investments in India reached $10 billion in FY24 and are projected to reach $60-70 billion by 2028, driven by both global and domestic capital. Historically, private credit was fueled by global capital investing in non-convertible debentures, but growth is now driven by domestic funds, mostly Category-II alternative investment funds targeting a mix of offshore and domestic capital. High-net worth individuals and family wealth are also contributing to growth in this space.
