PPL Reports 40% Surge in Data Center Demand in Pennsylvania, Connecting 20.5 GW of New Customers

PPL Corp. has signed energy service agreements to connect 20.5 GW of new data center customers in Pennsylvania to its system by the end of Q3, a 40% increase from Q2. This amount of power is enough to serve nearly 2 million average homes, according to PPL. The company attributes the growth in demand to the increasing need for cloud computing and data storage.
