Enhanced Classification
The new release introduces a new field, Class Type, which allows for the exchange of classification information with external PLM systems. This feature enables the assignment of received classes to change objects, document versions, and product versions, as well as the mapping of class assignments and characteristics for inbound and outbound requests [1].
Local Substitutes for Bills of Material
PLM system integration for SAP S/4HANA now supports local substitutes for bills of material under version control. This feature allows for the creation of alternative groups in PEO bills of material based on information from a structure version substitute. The new Domain Model source structure Structure Version Substitutes Extension Fields and the new target structure Alternative version BOM item data enable the mapping of attributes of substitutes [1].
Phantom Support for Production Operation List Components
The release includes enhanced support for phantom components in production operation lists. Users can now transfer POLs that include component allocations of subassemblies marked as phantom to production routing. This functionality supports a more detailed and accurate management of bill of material (BOM) items and allows for the allocation of leaf components of phantom items at both the operation and suboperation levels [1].
Improved Product Structure Component Grouping
The system now offers improved product structure component grouping based on the group ID as an additional criterion for version-controlled bills of material. Two new standard grouping strategies are available, and users can define custom grouping criteria for classic bills of material using the BAdI /PLMF/BD_SV_CUST_GROUPING [1].
These enhancements aim to improve usability and functionality for PLM community users, providing more flexibility and accuracy in managing complex BOM structures. For a comprehensive list of new and enhanced features, users are encouraged to refer to the What's New Viewer [1].
