PayPal has announced the integration of XRP payments for its merchants, marking a significant expansion of its cryptocurrency payment support. The move aims to tap into the vast market of over 650 million crypto users, including those who use XRP. This integration is part of PayPal's broader strategy to simplify cross-border commerce and reduce transaction costs.

The new feature, "Pay with Crypto," allows merchants to accept payments in over 100 cryptocurrencies, including XRP. This feature supports instant crypto-to-stablecoin or fiat currency conversion, enabling seamless international transactions. The integration of XRP aligns with PayPal's mission to transform commerce by integrating cryptocurrencies into a unified platform.

According to PayPal's President and CEO, Alex Chriss, "Businesses of all sizes face incredible pressure when growing globally, from increased costs for accepting international payments to complex integrations. Today, we're removing these barriers and helping every business of every size achieve their goals." [1]

The "Pay with Crypto" feature offers a transaction fee of just 0.99%, reducing international payment processing costs by up to 90% compared to traditional credit card payments. This feature is expected to be available to U.S. merchants in the coming weeks.

The integration of XRP follows PayPal's recent launch of "PayPal World," a global partnership that unites five of the world's largest digital wallets on a single platform. This initiative is designed to fundamentally reimagine how money moves around the world and break down long-standing barriers in global commerce.
