Parsons awarded position on $14B billion comet missile and space intelligence effort
Parsons Corporation has been positioned to participate in a significant Department of Defense initiative, the COMET (Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction) missile and space intelligence effort, which has a total value of $14 billion. While the company has not been directly awarded a contract for this effort, its ongoing work with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) positions it to contribute to the broader missile defense and space intelligence ecosystem.
The COMET initiative aims to enhance U.S. capabilities to detect, identify, and neutralize advanced missile threats, including hypersonic weapons and other emerging technologies. Parsons has a long-standing relationship with the MDA, having secured a $514 million contract option in August 2026 to continue providing engineering and technical support for the integrated Missile Defense System. This contract is part of the company’s broader Technical, Engineering, Advisory, and Management Support (TEAMS) – Next Missile Defense System Engineering contract, originally awarded in 2021.
Parsons’ expertise in systems engineering, command and control, and non-kinetic warfare solutions aligns with the strategic goals of the COMET initiative. The company has demonstrated its ability to deliver mission-critical support across multiple domains, including air, land, sea, space, and cyber. Its advanced electromagnetic warfare capabilities and AI/ML-enhanced systems further support resilient missile defense architectures.
As the U.S. continues to prioritize national security in an increasingly complex threat environment, companies like Parsons are playing a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and readiness of the nation’s defense infrastructure.
