Pampa Metals Corp. (CSE: PM / FSE: FIRA / OTCQX®: PMMCF) has made a significant discovery at its Piuquenes project in San Juan Province, Argentina. The company announced that it has intersected a second porphyry system at Piuquenes East, approximately 200 meters east of the Piuquenes Central deposit. This discovery has the potential to significantly enhance the overall resource potential of the Piuquenes project.

The Piuquenes East porphyry system is characterized by outcropping sheeted and stockwork sinuous, banded porphyry style quartz veins, and a 400 x 300m Cu-Au soil anomaly. Drill hole PIU-06, which was designed to test the depth continuity of banded quartz veinlets observed at surface, intersected porphyry-style mineralization and alteration from ~180 m to ~500 m downhole. The hole also intersected a multi-phase porphyry and hydrothermal breccia complex with strong biotite-dominated potassic alteration overprinted by strong phyllic alteration.

The discovery of a second porphyry system at Piuquenes East is significant for several reasons. First, it expands the mineralized footprint of the Piuquenes project, potentially increasing the overall resource base. Second, the presence of bornite in the mineralization at Piuquenes East suggests that the deposit may have a bornite-rich core at depth, which could indicate higher copper grades and potentially larger tonnage. Third, the discovery validates the project's potential and supports the exploration strategy employed by Pampa Metals.

Pampa Metals' CEO, Julian Bavin, commented on the discovery: "We are delighted with the progress of the Company’s exploration activities to date... We believe the Company has delivered on an aggressive approach to exploring its greenfield property portfolio in some of the most geologically prospective mineral belts in the world... We are looking forward to the next steps in our own and our partner’s activities over the next 6 months, including further drill programs."

In conclusion, the discovery of a second porphyry system at Piuquenes East has the potential to significantly increase the overall resource potential of Pampa Metals' Piuquenes project. The presence of bornite in the mineralization at Piuquenes East suggests that the deposit may have a bornite-rich core at depth, which could indicate higher copper grades and potentially larger tonnage. The discovery validates the project's potential and supports the exploration strategy employed by Pampa Metals. As the company continues its exploration activities, investors should keep a close eye on Pampa Metals' progress at the Piuquenes project and its other high-quality copper and gold exploration projects in northern Chile.
