Palo Alto Networks has recently announced a multiyear partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL), solidifying its role as the NHL's Official Cybersecurity Partner. This collaboration builds on their existing relationship since 2009, where Palo Alto Networks has provided comprehensive cybersecurity solutions to the NHL. The partnership includes exclusive marketing rights and will integrate Palo Alto Networks' brand across the NHL's marketing, digital, and social media channels. The focus of this collaboration is to enhance the NHL's cybersecurity initiatives, with an emphasis on improving threat blocking, IoT device security, reducing response time to security alerts, and enabling secure business initiatives and fan engagement. Palo Alto Networks' solutions, such as Prisma Access Browser for secure browsing and AI Access Security for safe AI application usage, will be integral to this effort.

In addition to the NHL partnership, Palo Alto Networks has unveiled Prisma SASE 5G, a cloud-native Zero Trust security solution designed to protect enterprise 5G deployments. This new solution offers cloud-delivered SASE integration for rapid deployment and enhanced security, SIM-based authentication for secure connectivity, and AI-powered protection against zero-day threats and malware. The company has formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Singtel, Nokia, NTT DATA, NVIDIA, OneLayer, Pente, and Telenor to strengthen security across evolving network landscapes and enable comprehensive protection for enterprises implementing 5G technology.

Palo Alto Networks has also introduced Cortex Cloud, the next evolution of Prisma Cloud, which merges cloud detection and response (CDR) with cloud native application protection platform (CNAPP) capabilities on the unified Cortex platform. This advancement comes in response to Unit 42 reports revealing 80% of security exposures in cloud attack surfaces and a 66% increase in cloud-targeting threats. Cortex Cloud features AI-powered prioritization, automated remediation, and a simplified user experience, with key features including enhanced application security across development pipelines, improved multi-cloud risk management, and real-time attack prevention through integration with the Cortex XDR agent. Notably, CNAPP capabilities are included at no additional cost for Cortex Cloud Runtime Security customers.

Palo Alto Networks has also announced the release of a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) Open API framework to help organizations prepare for future quantum security threats. Developed in collaboration with six QRNG industry innovators, the framework aims to ensure multi-vendor interoperability and enable quantum-resilient systems. The QRNG Open API framework will be available through Palo Alto Networks' GitHub portal and will be supported by their Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) later this year. The initiative's key objectives include simplifying QRNG integration, maximizing interoperability in multi-vendor networks, accelerating QRNG adoption, and providing a common mechanism for obtaining high-quality entropy from external QRNG platforms.
