OpenServ Names Joey Kheireddine Head of Blockchain to Drive Agentic AI and Onchain Innovation
OpenServ has appointed Joey Kheireddine as its new Head of Blockchain, elevating the company’s focus on integrating agentic AI with decentralized infrastructure. Kheireddine, who most recently served as Head of Engineering at Eliza Labs—formerly known as AI16z—brings extensive experience in developing enterprise-scale systems at the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. His appointment is a strategic move to accelerate OpenServ’s onchain roadmap and deepen its technical capabilities in building scalable, AI-powered platforms.
Kheireddine’s career includes a track record of delivering high-impact decentralized applications, including wallets, block explorers, agent frameworks, indexers, and NFT and token contracts. Over the past eight years, he has been responsible for a total revenue exceeding $50 million and has facilitated a combined trading volume of 70,000 ETH across marketplaces. Tim Hafner, CEO of OpenServ, emphasized Kheireddine’s ability to “ship at a pace and quality most teams struggle to match,” reinforcing the company’s commitment to execution and innovation.
In his new role, Kheireddine aims to streamline the deployment of AI agents on blockchain systems, leveraging his background in large-scale consumer experiences and developer tooling. Before joining Eliza Labs, he served as CTO at FLUF World (Non-Fungible Labs) and Head of Engineering at Walker Labs. He has also contributed as a blockchain architect with FUSION. His work at Eliza Labs, including the development of auto.fun—an open-source token launchpad incorporating AI—has directly aligned with OpenServ’s vision for agentic runtime and protocol development.
OpenServ, described as a full-stack AI app-building infrastructure for Web3, has positioned itself as a platform enabling developers to create AI agents with advanced cognitive reasoning. These agents can take action across digital systems, automate workflows, and interact with APIs. The platform supports modular software development and provides native integration with Telegram, allowing agents to transition from passive interfaces to active participants in decentralized ecosystems.
The appointment of Kheireddine reflects a broader trend of convergence between AI and blockchain, with companies seeking leaders who can bridge the two domains. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing OpenServ’s technical capabilities and positioning the firm at the forefront of next-generation distributed technologies. As the industry continues to evolve, the ability to deploy intelligent, autonomous systems on decentralized networks is becoming increasingly critical for both enterprise and developer use cases.
